DIED - At the residence of John Truax, in Canandaigua, on
Sunday, the 28th ult., Jonas Wells, in the 29th year of
his age.
In this village on Saturday evening, the 3d inst., Capt. Erastus
Barnard, aged 82 years and 15 days. Capt. B. was one of the oldest
settlers of this town. He came to this county in 1808, and settled in
Phelps, soon after, however, he removed to this town
where he continued to reside to the time of his death.

DIED - The youngest child of Mr. Philip R. Powell, at
his residence in Gorham, aged about 3 years. The death of the child
was occasioned by falling into a pail of boiling water. It had just
been taken from the fire for use, and only set down a moment. The
active
child insensible to the danger fell into it, and so this sweet blossom
faded and fell.
In South Bristol, on the 18th of April, Anthony Smith, aged 80
years.
In Canandaigua the 3d of May, after a painful illness of congestion of
the lungs, Mary Ada Gunnison, youngest daughter of Oliver
Gunnison, aged 10 years.
In Gorham on the 22d of April, Elvira M. McPherson, aged 18
years and 4 months, daughter of the late Joseph McPherson.
In this town on the 3d inst., Russell Bement, son of J. H. and
Delilah Sanger, aged 18 years, 3 months and 7 days.
