issued in this proceeding returnable on
the 26th day of May next.

deceased. Will admitted and letters testamentary issued to Stephen
W. Gregory. Hiram Metcalf and Ira B. Howe appointed
appraisers.
In re will of Samantha K. Furman of Richmond,
deceased. Will admitted to probate and letters testamentary
issued to Edwin S. Furman. Executor, John S. Andrews
Esq., appointed special guardian of Mary A. and Chester
F. Harris, infant heirs.
In re Edwin Gilbert of Richmond, deceased. On reading
and filing the petition of Edwin W. Gilbert and Albert J.
Gilbert, next of kin of said deceased, it is ordered that a
citation be issued to George Thayer, the surviving
administrator etc., of said deceased, to show cause on the 10th day of
April next at 10 o'clock A. M., why he should not render a further
account of his proceedings as such administrator of property and assets
of said deceased not embraced in his account heretofore had.
In re will of Lucinda S. Martin of Richmond,
deceased. Citation issued to the husband of deceased to attend
the probate of her will on the 18th day of May next, on the petition of
Hiram Clark, sole heir and next of kin of the deceased.

In re Thomas Vandevort, Phelps, deceased. Proceedings
adjourned to April 17, 1885, at 9 o'clock A. M.
In re will and codicils of James M. Soverhill of Geneva,
deceased. Petition of the widow and all the heirs and
next of kin of deceased filed for the probate of
the will of said deceased. And it appearing that one of the
subscribing witnesses to a codicil of said will
resides or now is in Franklin county and by reason of ill health is
unable to attend in this county for examination, it is ordered
that the evidence of such witness be taken by and before Hon. H. A.
Taylor, Surrogate of Franklin County, and that this proceeding be
adjourned until further order.

to show cause filed with proofs. Respondent answers in

Two wills, those of Lucinda Couch, late of Hopewell, and
of Winfield S. Adams, late of Phelps, were admitted to probate
Monday. The first disposes of property in the value of about $1200; the
latter contains bequests amounting in all to over $4500.

The will of Nancy Dewey, late of the town of Manchester,
was admitted to probate in the Surrogate's Court Monday. The estate
amounts to about $3500. The estate left by the will of Elizabeth B.
Mellen, late of Geneva, also probated Monday amounts to about
$18,000. The rector, wardens and vestrymen of Grace Church at White
Plains, N. Y., are among the devisees in the will. The will of Philander
F. Bassett, late of Seneca, contains bequests aggregating $50,000.
That of the late Sunderland P. Gardner, of Farmington, bequeathes to
natural heirs an estate of about $10,000.

In Surrogate's Court this week three wills were admitted to
probate. That of Frank Tolner, late of the town of Manchester
contains bequests of property amounting to $2500. The heirs are the
widow and nine children and grandchildren. The will of Sidney C.
Chapman, late of the town of Gorham, disposes of property valued
at about $200. The will of Asil A. Stetson, late of
Canandaigua, bequeathes to his widow, a brother, two half sisters, two
nieces and an adopted daughter a property of about $3500.

During the past week the will of Virginia Nicholas of
Geneva was admitted to probate by Surrogate D. G. Lapham as was also
that of Elizabeth S. Herendeen, of Farmington. The latter
bequeathed some $4000 worth of property. Administration papers were
also issued to Julia Benham and G. Granger Benham in
the matter of the last will and testament of Barzil Benham of
Hopewell who left an estate of about $4000.

The will of the late Hon. Stephen H. Ainsworth, of West
Bloomfield, was admitted to probate Saturday. His entire estate, valued
at $47,500, is left to his widow and one daughter, save $1000, which is
bequeathed to a cemetery. The will of Betsy A. Smith, deceased,
late of Manchester, was probated Monday. An estate of $4500 was divided
among her children. Letters testamentary on the estate of Catherine
Flynn, late of Canandaigua, deceased, were issued on Monday to Jeremiah
Flynn. The estate is valued at $800. On September 25 the will of Wm.
Farnsworth, of Manchester, bequeathing property valued at $8000,
was admitted to probate. On the same day letters of administration were
filed on the estate of E. C. Nelson of Naples, valued at
$4500. On Tuesday papers were filed appointing Frederick L. Ashley,
administrator of the estate of Leonard P. Briggs. The
property involved is valued at $14,000.

On Monday letters testamentary were granted to Bridget Roland on
the estate of Michael Roland, late of Geneva. Besides real
estate, $300 in personal property is involved. On the same day, letters
on the estate of Mary Sheehan, late of Manchester, were
granted to John O'Leary, of Canandaigua. Some real estate and
$100 in personal property were left. On Tuesday, letters testamentary
were granted to David A. Lisk on the estate of Anna
Malzer, late of Clifton Springs. Real estate and $425 personal
property comprise the estate. On Wednesday the will of Marianne H.
Alexander, late of this village, was admitted to probate. An
estate of $5000 in real and personal property is devised. Elizabeth
H. Robinson, of this village, is named as executrix. Letters
testamentary were also granted on Wednesday to Emma Clancy on
the estate of Martin Clancy, late of this village, involving
about $350 in personal property; and also to Michael Maley on
the estate of Mary Maley, late of Hopewell. The latter estate
includes $400 in personal property and $1000 in real estate.
