John K. Phillips and Millison Tyler Phillips

This photo of a couple from Gorham,  MILLISON TYLER (daughter of Alsop V. Tyler and Rhoda Ann Burges) and JOHN K. PHILLIPS (son of James G. Phillips and Mary Stults of Gorham), was taken about 1857.  John is a grandson of Isaac Phillips and Anna Gamble of Gorham.

I believe this was their wedding photo; they were married 19 February 1857. John Phillips was killed at Gettysburg on 3 July 1863.  He is buried there. Millison remarried to George Lester.  She died 24 February 1881, probably in Phelps since she was living there with her daughter, Rhoda Margaret, and son- in-law, Warren Burlingame, in 1880.  She is buried in the Gorham cemetery.
