DIED - In this town, on the morning of the 8th inst., Catharine, youngest daughter of Mr. John V. R. Schermerhorn, aged 4 years, 6 months and 8 days. Her untimely death was occasioned by an accident which occurred on the 27th ultimo, when she fell backwards into a kettle of hot water, and was so severely scalded that the skin came from her back, sides and legs in the course of a few minutes. The pain and suffering which she endured with a patience and fortitude much beyond her years, were in the highest degree agonizing and severe.

In West Bloomfield, on the 28th Dec., after an illness of 10 days, Major General Amos Hall, aged 66 years. Gen. Hall was one of the earliest settlers in this part of the state; he was extensively known and universally respected for his many virtues and enduring qualities.

DIED - In Seneca, on the 7th inst., Barnabas Murray, a revolutionary pensioner, aged about 35. He emigrated to this county previous to the revolutionary war, in which he served during the whole contest, and was engaged in twenty-four battles. He was entirely dependent for a living on the honorable reward paid him by his adopted country for his services.
