From Geneva Daily Times 20 November 1905

President Roosevelt would have extra occasion to feel "de-lighted" if he could take a peep today into the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Wilson, of No. 664 South Exchange street, where are snuggled in pillows, decorated with red, white and blue ribbons, triplet girls which the stork yesterday brought to this humble home. There would be no occasion for any fears of or comments about race suicide were the stork's visitations as generous as in this instance, or as frequent as they have been in this home, for the offspring census of this family numbers seven besides the three arrivals with which they were surprised yesterday. Dr. C. C. Lytle, the attending physician, says that the children will live. The first born, which arrived at 3 o'clock in the morning, weighs eight pounds. The second came at 3:45. It weighs seven and a half pounds as does the third which arrive at 4:45. Mrs. Wilson was bright and cheery when seen by a Times reporter this morning at 11 o'clock. She proudly exhibited her offspring and designated them in the order of birth. The proud parent is now mother of ten children, four by a former marriage. These are grown up. The other three are comparatively young and live with their parents. Two of them are girls.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were justly proud today when informed that within the recollection of the oldest inhabitants no like occurrence in Geneva can be remembered. The records of the city and village which date back to 1882 contain no chronicling of the birth of triplets and the memories of old inhabitants have to be relied upon for earlier happenings in this line. The Wilson family removed to this city from Troupsburg, Steuben county, about seven weeks ago. Mr. Wilson is employed as a night watchman at the plant of Howard & Arnold, boiler manufacturers on Jackson street. He is forty-nine years of age. When the Times reporter paid his respects this morning, a trained nurse was about to attach colored ribbons to the little ones to distinguish them. The first born by seniority right now wears a dainty red ribbon, the next a white and the third a blue. These ribbons will serve as distinguishing marks until the tots are baptized.

The family are apparently in poor circumstances and many kind-hearted women have become interested in the case. Mrs. Charles J. Arnold of Hamilton street, wife of a member of the Howard & Arnold firm, supplied a trained nurse early yesterday and also made arrangement for an extra supply of warm clothing for the babes. Other women sent clothing during the day and this morning provisions, fuel and clothing were received in profusion. There have been many callers at the house and everyone seems anxious to get a peep at the new arrivals. It was said that pictures of the triplets are to be taken shortly and one will be forwarded to President Roosevelt.
