YOUNG MEN'S TEMPERANCE CONVENTION
At a convention of delegates from the Young Men's Temperance Societies of the several towns in the county of Ontario, held at Canandaigua on the 14th inst. for the purpose of forming a County Society, and of sending Delegates to the Young Men's State Temperance Convention to be held at Utica on the __ day of May next, and also to take such other measures as they should consider expedient for the promotion of Temperance, the following  gentlemen appeared and presented their credentials as Delegates:

The Convention was organized by the choice of the following officers: -- Arthur Burtis, President; Lorenzo Hathaway,  B. W. Raymond, H. Woolsey, John Sears Jr., Vice-Presidents; Thomas M. Howell and Samuel Hopkins, Secretaries. After the object of the meeting had been stated by the President, the convention was opened with prayer by the Rev. A. D. Eddy of Canandaigua.  The convention then proceeded to the transaction of business.

A Mass Temperance Convention will be held in the village of Rushville on Tuesday, March 5th, commencing at 10 o'clock a.m. and continue two days. The friends of Temperance from abroad are particularly invited to attend. Committee of Arrangements:

The Sons of Temperance of this village held their 167th weekly meeting last Thursday evening at Temperance Hall.  The special business, after the initiation of two gentlemen, was their quarterly election, which resulted as follows:

The officers elect will be installed at 8 o'clock next Tuesday evening, when it is expected that the Grand Worthy Patriarch will officiate.  The exercises will be public.  "Sons" of the Geneva Divisions of 1845-6 will be interested in witnessing again these impressive ceremonies of the Order.  It is hoped that this occasion will witness a numerous reunion of the friends of temperance.
