DIED - In this village, on the 20th of December, 1867, Mrs. Ann J. Anderson, widow of the late William Anderson, age 76 years.

DIED - In Gorham, January 19th, Mary T. Smith, of paralysis, consort of Nathaniel Smith, after an attack of five days; aged 72 years.

At Geneva, Wednesday, January 29th, by the Rev. Samuel J. Rogers, Mr. Michael S. Borall of Torrey, Yates co., to Miss Maria Jane Osborne, adopted daughter of Wm. DeGraff, Esq., of Gorham.

DIED - At her residence in Canandaigua, January 26th, in the fifty-first year of her age, Isabella Maria Stuart Menteath, widow of Capt. Thomas L. Stuart Menteath. And thus have her children lost a devoted mother, her relatives, an ornament, the poor a friend.

DIED - Dr. R. B. Cuthbert, an old resident of Geneva, died recently of paralysis.

Lucius Warner, also another old resident of the same place, died a few days ago.

At her residence in Naples, on the 11th inst., of apoplexy, Mrs. Jane Maxfield, widow of Michael Maxfield, and mother of Hiram Maxfield and Mrs. E. B. Pottle. Her age was 73 years.

DIED - In Geneva, on the 16th inst., Anthony H. Bradt, aged 85 years. Mr. Bradt was the father of Mr. John G. Bradt at this village and one of the oldest residents of Geneva.

Recently at the residence of his son, in the town of Atifalcus, county of Decatur, State of Georgia, Thomas Waugh, son of the late Peter Waugh, aged about 50 years; formerly and for many years a resident of the town of Gorham in this county. His native place was near Killeybags in Ulster county, Donegal Ireland.

DIED - In this village, on Tuesday, November 24th, Sarah A., wife of Charles W. Hoffman, Esq., and only daughter of Mark A. and Jemima Squier, formerly of Seneca Falls.

On Tuesday morning, Dec. 1st, Wm. McGinnis, Jr., son of Wm. McGinnis, aged 18 years, 10 months.

DIED - At Canandaigua, on the morning of the 22d of February, of typhoid fever, James Draper, elder son of George W. and Catherine P. Bemis, in the 16th year of his age.

In this village, on the 15th inst., of typhoid fever, Austin Steward, aged 76 years.

MARRIED - At the residence of the bride's father, in Canandaigua, on Thursday, the 25th of February, ult., by the Rev. F. B. Allen, Hon. Samuel D. Backus, of Poughkeepsie, N. Y., to Zilpha A. Clark, daughter of ex-Governor Myron H. Clark.

DIED - In this town, Feb. 8th, Ella, daughter of Charles and Mary Warner, aged 32 years. She occupies the same grave with her twin sister, Julia, who died July 11th, 1866.
 
In this village, on the 27th inst., Mathias Latz, aged 71 years, 4 months. Mr. Latz was one of the oldest German settlers in this village having settled here in 1848.

DIED - In Rockford, Ill., March 10th, of consumption, Wm. D. Gregory, aged 50 years, formerly a resident of Hopewell, Ontario county, N. Y.

On Tuesday morning, 23d inst., Henriettie Welles, daughter of the late Theodore H. Hale, aged 16 years.

At her residence in Reed's Corners, May 26th, Miss Fanny Henion, aged 76 years, 4 months and 23 days.

DIED - In Reed's Corners (Gorham), on the 6th inst., William Sherburne, aged 47 years. His disease was softening of the brain.

DIED - In this village, on the 1st inst., of inflammation of the bowels, Samuel Hewitt, aged 62 years.

In Gorham, on the 26th inst., Rev. Hiram Harris, aged 58 years, son of Francis Harris. Mr. Harris, a Presbyterian preacher of the Gospel for 27 years, when his health failed six years ago; since that period he has been gradually wearing away until he was worn out.

DIED - In this village, last Monday afternoon, the 14th inst., Orrin Hart, aged 81 years and 6 months. His remains were taken to Waterloo for burial.

DIED - At Stanley Corners, on Thursday, Jan. 5th, at 8 A. M., Mr. Lucius Stanley, at the advanced age of 77 years. Mr. Stanley had been a resident of the above named place about 74 years. He was a veteran of 1812, having entered the service while yet a minor.

In Hopewell, on the 17th inst., Mr. Jonathan Cammet, in the eightieth year of his age.

DIED - At his residence, in this town, on the evening of the 26th of February, Aaron Pomeroy, of heart disease, in the 77th year of his age. Mr. Pomeroy has resided in Canandaigua forty-three years, was universally respected, and is loss will be felt by a large circle of friends.

In Canandaigua, February 24th, Mrs. Sarah McCabe, wife of Mr. William McCabe, aged 42 years and 13 days.

In Manchester, on the 13th ult., at the residence of his son, Abial Allen, Esq., Ira Allen, aged 91 years.

In this village, on Monday, March 6th, Dr. H. C. Gorham, aged 26 years and 4 months.

MARRIED - In Canandaigua, on the evening of the 22d instant, by the Rev. Mr. Wilkins, Mr. Frank A. Ellis of Canandaigua and Miss Almira G. Sears of East Bloomfield, daughter of S. B. Sears, Esq.

DIED - In Gorham, on the morning of July 21st, Lydia A., wife of James W. Nelson, and daughter of Elijah Harrington, of this town, in the 43d year of her age. A loving daughter, an affectionate sister, a fond wife, and a devoted mother.

MARRIED - In Lyons, August 9th, at the house of the bride's father, by the Rev. Mr. Raines, Mr. Emmet Schermerhorn of Canandaigua to Miss Mary A. Sharp of Lyons.

DIED - In this village, the 8th instant, Morris M., infant son of John H. and Mary Etts, aged 9 months and 20 days.

MARRIED - In Canandaigua, August 24th, by Rev. A. Wilkins, Mr. Albert A. Eldridge to Miss Ann M. Lyon, both of this place.



6 September 1871

DIED - In Canandaigua, Sept. 1st, William H. Andrews, aged 16 years and 10 months, son of Heman and Esther Andrews.

At Seneca Point, August 22d, of dropsy on the brain, Louise, daughter of C. D. and Anna E. Castle, aged two years and eight months.

In Bethel, Sept'r 1st, Marian Whittaker, aged 52 y'rs, leaving a husband, S. M. Whittaker, in the Insane Asylum at Utica, and four children, the youngest 11 years, to mourn her death.

DIED - On the 2d of September, in Richmond, at the residence of her father, Gen. Barkley, Carrie, wife of A. W. Richards of Miller's Corners.

 MARRIED - At the residence of the bride's mother, on the 27th of September, by the Rev. George Van Alstyn of Geneva, Mr. William Elbert Spier of Lyons to Miss Ettie, daughter of the late Hon. Oliver Case of Bristol, and granddaughter of John Gifford, Esq., of Phelps.

DIED - In this village on Wednesday evening, Nov. 29th, aged 28, Mrs. Louisa Ripley Allen, wife of Rev. Frederic B. Allen, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Canandaigua.

In Cheshire, on Thursday, November 23d, George Nethaway, aged 72 years and 3 months.

In Eddytown, Yates county, on Friday, December 1st, Jeremiah Simons, formerly of West Bloomfield, aged 66 years.
