MULLIKEN, CUTLER, SCUDDER, YATESTerri Mulliken Allen Mon Sep 29
1997
I am researching John and Abigail (CUTLER) MULLIKEN of East Bloomfield,
Ontario County, New York. John was born in Oct 1785 in Bradford, Essex
County, Massachusetts and Abigail in 1787 in Plainfield, Sullivan
County, New Hampshire. They met and married in Plainfield in 1811. They
moved west and settled in East Bloomfield, as their oldest son, Charles
MULLIKEN, was born there 18 Jun 1812. John is listed in the 1820 New
York census as living in East Bloomfield. By the 1830 census, Abigail
is listed as being head of household. Their last child was born in
1828, so John probably died sometime between 1827 and 1830. Abigail
moved to Michigan with her children in 1836 and remarried to Jesse
SCUDDER within a year. Abigail died in 1875 in Dover Twp., Lenawee Co.,
MI. I've checked land records, military records of the War of 1812,
cemetery records (there was a J. MULLICAN buried in an obscured grave,
with no date in E. Bloomfield), tax records, wills and probate, voter
records, church records, etc., etc., etc. with no results. The only
definite records I can connect with John MULLIKEN are: his birth in
Bradford, MA in 1785, he inherited some money in Bradford, MA from a
maiden aunt when he turned 21 (1806), the 1811 marriage record in the
Plainfield, NH Township minutes and the 1820 census. Other than that,
I've hit brick walls. I know this is a shot in the dark, but can you
help me? Terri Mulliken Allen

John and Abigail (CUTLER) MULLIKEN were married 15 Jan 1811 in
Plainfield, NH and were living in East Bloomfield by 18 Jun 1812, when

1820

I am looking for the name of the son of Asher NORTON who was born in

(another son was born after 1830-I am only marginally interested in
him.) Asher Norton was born in Guilford, Connecticut in 1786 and died
in Cuyahoga County, Ohio in 1869 (or later). His wife listed in the
1850 U.S. Census in Cuyahoga County (and presumably the mother of the
son whose name
I am seeking) is Ruth. He lived in Ontario County during the early
1800's (his father, Benjamin NORTON died there in 1812). I am looking
for/hoping that Asher NORTON is the father of my ancestor Lorenzo
NORTON who was
married in 1844 in Somerset, Hillsdale County, Michigan and died there
in 1865. I have reason to believe that Asher NORTON is Lorenzo's father
(Emily NORTON is mentioned in Lorenzo's probate papers-I believe she
may
be the same Emily who is Asher's unmarried daughter, listed in his
family
in the 1850 and 1860 censuses and in his will). I suspect/presume that
the reason Lorenzo's family is not mentioned in Asher NORTON's will is
that, after Lorenzo's death in 1865, his widow Paulina remarried prior
to Asher's death. (Incidentally, the Lorenzo NORTON listed in the 1840
census in Elba, NY is a different person.) Mark Norton

I am looking for any and all PARISH or PARRISH people and MARSHALL. I
have a half-sister of my father, Margaret Marshall who's son, Clarence
was living in the Phelps area around 1905 to 1915. Another half-sister
Emma married a James PARISH -it might be PARRISH, two records differ,
and lived in the same area. I might as well mention a third name Lydia
KELLY/KELLEY who is "lost" and might have been in that area too. So
we have three surnames: PARISH/PARRISH, MARSHALL, and KELLEY.
Sun Oct 26 1997
The other day I was searching a Soundex for 1900 in our local FHC and
found a James PARISH, B May 1873, living alone in Phelps twp. My
father's half-sister Emma (real name AMERILLA!) married a James PARISH
and the only place I have found her was 19 Seneca Alley in Geneva in
the 1920 census. She was married to a James PARISH, Boa 1870. So I have
a
gap between 1880 in St. Lawrence County and 1920 in Geneva, and also
wondered if that was the same James PARISH. I do have her death cert.
but doesn't say when she married. Therefore I hoped to find them in the
1900 census which gives that information. There is another connection
with Ontario
County. Another of my dad's half sisters, Margaret married Jefferson
MARSHALL
and they lived for a while in Gorham twp. Lurking in the background
behind
all this is, I hope if I keep at this stubbornly, I'll find out what
happened to my Dad's third half sister Lydia. She dropped out of sight
in 1880
in SLC and is the only one of my father's many relatives that remains
lost. Regards, Bert Kelley

_______ abt 1803. I have never found their marr record nor Gertrude's
last name. James may have remarried betw 1850-1855 because he appears
in Farmington censuses in 1855 & 1860 with a Mary (last name may
have been SMITH
before they married). James was b 1784 in Scarsborough England as a
Quaker
& he d 7 Mar 1872. The reason I think he died in Farmington is that
his obit appears in "The Quaker Yeoman" and mentions that he was an

ROBINSON, COLEMAN, GOULD, KRUMDorothy M. Robinson Wed Apr 2 1997
Dear Ontario Co. Researchers. I have been trying to locate my husband's
gggrandparents with very little to go on. Great Grandfather David
ROBINSON was born in Gorham, NY on Feb 3, 1815. The 1880 Iowa census
record for David gives his father's birth place as MA and his mother's
as New York. Since families were large back then, I feel that David had
some brothers and/or sisters. Suggestions for his father's name have
been John, David, and Daniel or could be something different. David
married Mary Ann COLEMAN d of John and Katherine KRUM of Palmyra, NY in
1836. They traveled west with Mary Ann's folks through Ohio and
Wisconsin. Sons Ira and Lorin GOULD were born in Wisconsin and Harriet,
Henry Orville, John Coleman, Charles Albert, and Jullietta were born in
Ohio. The family reached Steamboat Rock, Iowa where they settled in
1865. Any Robinsons out there that fit into this family?
