Will of John A. Reed - Town of Richmond - Ontario

I, John A. Reed of the town of Richmond
Ontario County N.Y., do make ordain publish and declare this to be my
last Will and Testament That is to say:
First; I will and bequeath to my son Robert F.
Reed One hundred acres of land bounded and described as follows, to
wit: being a part of my home farm situate in the town of Richmond,
Ontario County, N.Y. Township number nine in the fifth range and being
part of lot No. fifty one and bounded east by a line twenty five rods
east of the center line of said lot and parallel therewith, thence to
extend west the whole width of said lot and so far as to contain One
hundred acres of land and it being intended hereby to convey by this
instrument the same premises contained in a deed of conveyance executed
by Lemuel Chipman and Sina Chipman to John F. Reed dated February 18th,
1809 and duly recorded in Ontario County Clerks Office on the 21st day
of June, 1813 in Liber 19, of Deeds at Folio 303, together with the
dwelling house, farm buildings and appurtenances connected therewith,
to have hold and enjoy his heirs and assigns forever, subject however,
to the following charge of Seven hundred dollars to be paid as follows:
On or before three years from the issuing of Letters Testamentary of my
estate and without interest thereon to each of my children John F.
Reed, F. William Reed, Frank A. Reed, Mollie E. Deal, Anna L. Gilbert,
Augusta E. Westhafer, and Martha J. Waterbury share and share alike
their heirs and assigns forever.
Likewise I will and bequeath to my son Robert
F. Reed my farming tools and implements and team of horses, One wagon,
One sleigh, One sett of harness and one cow to be by him selected from
my personal property to have hold and enjoy the same his heirs and
assigns forever.
Second; to my daughter Anna L. Gilbert I will
and bequeath the sum of Two hundred dollars to have hold and enjoy her
heirs and assigns forever.
Third; After the payment of all my just debts
and funeral expenses, the residue and remainder of my property of every
name and nature both personal and real I devise will and bequeath to my
children John F. Reed, Frank A. Reed, F. William Reed, Mollie E. Deal,
Anna L. Gilbert, Augusta E. Westhafer, and Martha J. Waterbury share
and share alike to have hold and enjoy their heirs and assigns forever,
excepting therefrom my safe which I will and bequeath to Robert The old
Clock to William and the Black Walnut desk to Mollie.
Likewise I make constitute and appoint my son Robert
F. Reed and my daughter Mollie E. Deal to be executors of this my last
Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made and I do
hereby authorize and empower my executors aforesaid to sell and convey
with or without clauses of warranty as in their judgment they may deem
advisable any or all of my real estate of which I may die seized
excepting that portion herein bequeathed to my son Robert.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this 26th day of October 1899.

The above written instrument was subscribed by
the said John A. Reed in our presence and acknowledged by him to each
of us and he at the same time declared the above instrument so
subscribed to be his last will and testament and we at his request have
signed our names as witnesses hereto in his presence and in the
presence of each other and written opposite our names our respective
places of residence.
