Canadice Corners Cemetery

Town of Canadice - Ontario County NY


This cemetery is located on the east side of County Road 37 at Canadice Corners.  The cemetery is currently active but is also very old.  There are many stones that are worn to the point of being completely illegible.  Apologies for mistakes in reading some old stones and will welcome any and all additions and corrections.

Note 2:  Gene Hamman has kindly provided the following information.

Bradley Shepherd/Shepard; headstone, which reads Shepherd, is located almost directly behind the church, about three rows back. Bradley was the son of Zenas and Margaret Shepherd. Ellen [Landrigan] Shepherd/Shepard (wife of Bradley) - died 19 Nov 1898. There is no stone, but I have death notices from Naples Record, the Ontario County Times and the Ontario Repository and Messenger and the Ontario County Journal that indicate burial in Canadice Corners.

 Shepard - died 01 Oct 1882. His headstone, which reads, Johnnie B. Shepard, is located very near Bradley Shepherd's in the same row. John B, was the son of Willard Gabriel Shepard, who was the son of Bradley and Ellen. John B.'s parents, Willard and Jane [Calland] Shepard are buried in Rose Ridge Cemetery, Naples. Charlotte Adams, wife of Joseph, was the daughter of Zenas and Margaret Shepherd.

 

Gabriel Adams, husband of Charlotte Jackman, was the son of Joesph and Charlotte [Shepherd] Adams.
Arvilla Alvina Adams - died 28 Feb 1913. There is no stone. Arvilla died in Wayland and the information regarding burial location comes from the Wayland, NY Village Clerk's death records.Arvilla was the daughter of Gabriel and Charlotte Adams.
